Privacy and Cookies

This web site (the “Site”) is located in the United States of America.

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our site and the choices you have associated with that data. We use your data to provide and improve the Site. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree to any part of this Privacy Policy, then you should stop accessing the Service.

The Site does not presently contain advertising, but it might in the future.

The Site is built using WordPress, and uses Google ReCaptcha to prevent automated attack bots which, unfortunately, are out there doing a lot of mischief.

Personal Data

All our online sales are performed at other sites including Etsy.com, not at this Site.

Please do not provide to this Site any information you consider sensitive or confidential. Only use credit cards or other means of payment at our separate e-commerce site at Etsy.com, not at this Site. This Site is not intended for sensitive personal data. That is why we use other services (etsy.com) for e-commerce.

If you register for an account at the Site, you will be asked for contact information, which will be stored in your profile. By doing so, you accept all risk that this Site, or any other communication channels between you and this Site, may be breached by hackers who might publish the data you provide here. You will also be exposed to Google via their reCaptcha service, which this Site uses to prevent automated bot access.

Usage Data

We may also collect information how the Site is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

Tracking & Cookies Data

The Site may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on the Site and hold certain information. Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Tracking technologies also can include beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze the Site.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of the Site. For example:

  • The WordPress software uses cookies to enable login sessions and commenting, and to test whether your browser allows cookies.
  • A cookie is used to remember your cookie preferences.
  • The Site uses Google reCaptcha to prevent automated access to the site by malicious bots. This might expose you to Google cookies and tracking.

If you wish to avoid possible Google reCaptcha cookies and tracking, do not display or use the Sites’s login form, its user registration form, or its “forgot your password” form, and do not post comments. You can read all our content without a login account.

WordPress cookie use is described here: https://wordpress.org/support/article/cookies/

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the Site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Our comment form also uses Google reCaptcha as described above.

After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the Site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the Site can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on the Site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These other websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that other website. Such activities are governed by the policies and data management of those other websites, not this Site.

There are buttons on this Site to allow you to share posts to various social media sites. There are links to other websites such as Flickr, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook. Using those links will take you to their web sites which are governed by their own practices and policies.

Retention of Data

If you leave a comment on the Site, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on the Site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Transfer of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction. If you are located outside United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to United States and process it there. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
